Iran’s Supreme Leader’s Final Remarks: ‘We Must Have Deterrent Weapons’

“We must have deterrent weapons; if a nation does not have deterrent weapons, that nation will be trampled underfoot by its enemies. Deterrent weapons are one of the necessities for our nation.
The Americans are interfering in this matter for no reason: You can have this type of missile, you can have this range and no more. But what does this have to do with them? That is the business of the Iranian people,” Khamenei said.
Khamenei also mentioned President Donald Trump in his final speech: “They, including the US President, keep saying that the US military is the strongest military in the world. Even the strongest military in the world can sometimes be dealt a blow so severe that it cannot stand upright.”
According to Iranian state television, Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, announced that an interim leadership council would be established on March 1st.
He also warned that separatist groups would face a harsh response if they acted against Iran. Larijani further accused the US and Israel of seeking to plunder and divide Iran.
Iranian state television reported early on March 1st that the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, when referring to President Donald Trump and Israel, also asserted that the US and Israel had crossed Iran’s “red line” and “will pay the price.” Qalibaf affirmed that Iran would continue on the path laid out by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
