Israel Announces Largest Air Strike in History Against Iran

In an official statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the operation was launched simultaneously with the participation of approximately 200 fighter jets, focusing on attacking Iran’s missile systems and air defense capabilities in the western and central regions of the country.
The IDF emphasized that this was the “largest military sortie in history” of the Israeli Air Force (IAF), conducted after meticulous preparation, based on high-quality intelligence and the coordinated action of hundreds of fighter jets at the same time.
According to Israeli information, the fighter jets simultaneously dropped hundreds of bombs, targeting approximately 500 targets in Iran, including air defense systems and missile launchers. One of the confirmed airstrikes hit a facility in the city of Tabriz, in western Iran. This location is believed to be the base of an Iranian surface-to-surface missile unit.
Earlier, on February 28, the US and Israel launched attacks on targets in Iranian territory. In a statement that same day, US President Donald Trump declared that Washington had begun a “large-scale military operation” against Iran.
Following the airstrikes, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported detecting missile launches from Iranian territory toward the State of Israel. This move indicates the risk of further escalation of conflict in the Middle East.
Also on February 28, Iran reportedly launched attacks on Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates following airstrikes by Israel and the US.
The international community is closely monitoring the situation and calling on all parties to exercise restraint and prevent tensions from spiraling out of control.
