Prayers for Lukas Hardeman 

In a moment that no child or parent should ever have to endure, Lukas Hardeman, an eighth-grader from Kilgore ISD, was violently body-slammed in his school cafeteria, suffering a devastating six-inch skull fracture. The injuries were life-threatening, and it took an emergency surgery — doctors drilling into his skull to stop the bleeding and swelling — to save his life.

By God’s grace, Lukas survived, and remarkably, he avoided permanent brain damage. But his road to recovery is just beginning. Months of therapy and medical treatment lie ahead, as Lukas fights to regain his strength and heal both physically and emotionally.

In the midst of this crisis, Lukas’s family is leaning on faith and hope, trusting in God’s grace to carry them through the darkest moments. They are holding on to the belief that every day brings them closer to healing, both for Lukas and for their family.

Meanwhile, Kilgore ISD is facing criticism for its handling of the bullying reports leading up to the incident, but today, the most important thing is Lukas’s recovery.
