Nearly 1,000 casualties in Iran, negligible US losses

Iran officially announced the damage from the Israeli and US attacks. According to the Iranian Red Cross, 24 out of 31 provinces of Iran were hit by airstrikes, resulting in at least 201 deaths and 747 injuries.
On February 28th, local time, Israel and the US launched a preemptive strike against Iran. Tel Aviv stated that it had deployed 200 aircraft to strike more than 500 targets in Iran. According to Israeli media, 30 key leaders of Tehran were among the targets, with approximately 30 bombs dropped on the palace of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In response, Iran launched retaliatory missiles against Israel and US military bases in the Middle East.
Israel reported that 89 people in the country suffered minor injuries, mostly while fleeing for shelter, according to the Times of Israel.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that U.S. military targets in the Middle East were damaged by Iranian missile and drone attacks, but that the damage did not affect combat capabilities.
“There have been no reports of U.S. casualties or combat-related injuries. Damage to U.S. facilities is minimal and does not affect operations,” the CENTCOM statement said.
Additionally, the U.S. confirmed the use of inexpensive “one-way” attack drones in this operation.
