Remembering Dr. Jane Goodall: A Legacy of Hope and Action

In her final weeks, Dr. Jane Goodall did what she loved most: advocating for the planet, connecting with people, and sharing her unwavering message of hope. She traveled the world, delivering sold-out lectures in Ottawa, Toronto, Detroit, and Austin, and calling for urgent climate action during Climate Week in New York City. Jane also met with supporters and partners in Mexico City and Los Angeles, inspiring the next generation of changemakers at a special Roots & Shoots event in Chicago.

Throughout her life, Jane often spoke of the power of young people as her greatest source of hope. Remarkably, the very morning after she peacefully passed away in her sleep, she was scheduled to speak at a Roots & Shoots school event in Pasadena, reinforcing her commitment to the cause until the very end.

Jane’s passion for the world never wavered. She taught us that hope is not a passive feeling — it is something we act upon. As we continue her mission, we hold her words close: “Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference.”

Dr. Goodall’s legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched and the movement she built. She has inspired millions to take action, protect our planet, and believe in the power of every individual to make a difference. Now, it is up to us to carry her message forward — to act with the same fierce dedication to conservation, sustainability, and the future of our planet. Her work has laid the foundation, and the world is counting on us to keep it alive.
