Wednesday is an American supernatural horror-comedy television series based on the character Wednesday Addams of the famous Addams family. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the series stars Jenna Ortega in the title role, alongside an impressive supporting cast including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Gwendoline Christie, Fred Armisen, and Christina Ricci. Four of the eight episodes were directed by Tim Burton, who also served as executive producer.

The series follows Wednesday’s journey at Nevermore Academy, where she must confront the mystery of a monster slaughtering students and uncovering the town’s dark secrets. Tim Burton, who turned down the 1991 film and a canceled stop-motion animation project, returned to his old inspiration to bring Wednesday to the small screen. After Netflix officially greenlit the film, it was filmed in Romania from September 2021 to March 2022.
